As the 4th of July approaches, it’s a great reminder to make the most of longer summer days with family and friends. Growing up my summertime highlight was my family’s annual trip to Cape Cod. I loved visiting so much, I decided to work there summers during college, and as an adult resumed visiting the Cape with my siblings and our families.
I recently had the opportunity to share Cape Cod with some newer members of my family. When my husband Mark and I married a little over a year ago, his three daughters became an important part of my life too. I’ve loved sharing the Cape over the years with my extended family, and this past week, Mark’s daughters, their partners, plus two grandchildren all came together for a beach vacation on Cape Cod. We were joined by my two sons, as well as a few of my siblings, and a niece and nephew. We spent many hours at the beach and took a few bike rides on the Cape Cod Rail Trail. It was wonderful to relive special memories and make new ones!
How will you be making new memories this summer? If you’re looking for ideas, check out those we shared a couple of summers ago for inspiration!
I was rich, if not in money, in sunny hours and summer days.
