Remembering 9-11

Today marks the passing of 23 years since the vile and senseless terrorist attacks that resulted in the murder of nearly 3,000 innocent souls and exponentially more lives that were altered forever that day. We will never forget the victims and their loved ones who continue to cope with their losses.

Of joys departed, not to return, how painful the remembrance.

Robert Blair

I have written before about my experience working in the World Trade Center during the first bombing attempt in 1993 and my remembrance of my sorority sister Melissa, who was killed in the Twin Towers on Sept. 11, 2001. This week, a few of our friends have begun collaborating on an update of the library in the house we lived in with Melissa on Northwestern’s campus in her honor.

The living owe it to those who no longer can speak to tell their story for them.
