Watching Love Grow 💐

Julia wrote last week about her wedding, but I can’t move on quite yet from that glorious day without sharing a little bit more about her and Mark’s festive occasion.

Witnessing my dear friend embark on a second chance at lifelong love has been a true blessing for me ever since I first began hearing about Mark a few years ago. He simply adores my friend Julia, and that has been apparent from the start.  As if that weren’t enough to make my heart brim with happiness for her, I knew when Mark and Julia asked me to officiate the ceremony that their wedding would be a momentous day in my life too.

I researched my role as officiant, because I wanted to make sure everything was done properly and to the happy couple’s liking. Mark and Julia sent me a model ceremony, which I added to and manipulated until the three of us came to a final result that we agreed was perfect.

On the day of the wedding, I arrived early with my daughter Rachel. She had prepared at Julia’s request to sing Christina Perry’s song 1000 Years. The song was wonderfully appropriate for Julia’s walk through the meadow and down the aisle with her two handsome sons. Rachel sang it so well that some of the guests who couldn’t see her from where they were sitting actually thought she was a recording!  As the bride made her way to meet the groom at the altar, the sun shined and the breezes flowed on a delightful spring day.

Marriage, ultimately, is the practice of becoming passionate friends.

A perfect occasion in every possible way and an auspicious start for the bride and groom. As a loving friend to the happy couple, my feelings of shoy were in full bloom! Wishing Mark and Julia a lifetime of happiness, health and love! Cheers 🥂

Julia and Mark share a smile during the ceremony as his three beautiful daughters give their readings.
